Cathedral Woods Cathedral woods are located on Monhegan Island, off the coast of Maine. These woods are intriguing and mysterious. There are many legends heard on the island about fairies who live in these woods and old sea-men who have since passed on but still roam the woods. One does get the sensation when walking beneath these tall pine trees "alone", that someone is watching them.
