Ipswich Estuary A group of us went out on a painting excursion. We pulled off the on to the shoulder of the road where we beheld a beautiful field with duck-blinds in the distance and tall wavy golden and green grasses in the foreground. It was early in the morning a gorgeous day with a slight crispness in the air. This was the first time I was to sketch and cover the canvas in one sitting. The subject matter stirred a great deal of emotion in me, I felt alive and invigorated. The sketch seemed almost effortless. Even the paint and color mixtures appeared to flow on the canvas easily and quickly. I discovered that day how much I enjoy painting on scene.
