Ellingwood Chapel I enjoy this subject matter. This is a small chapel in the grave yard in Nahant, MA. The day was crisp and clear the play of light and shadow from the back side of the chapel was more intriguing to paint. So I set up my canvas there. The light was dancing on the trees leaves and bouncing off the roof. The grave stones fell in and out of warm light and cool shadows.
